ANOTHER WAY INTO MUSIC

Some children do not connect with traditional lessons

Not every creative child wants to practise scales, follow a rigid syllabus or learn music in the usual order.

Some children are full of musical ideas but struggle to express them. Others love technology but mainly use it to watch, scroll or play.

Music production gives them another way in.

ACTIVE, CREATIVE SCREEN TIME

This is not simply less screen time. It is a better use of screen time.

Instead of only consuming digital content, children learn how to create it.

A musical instrument

Play rhythms, melodies, chords and sounds.

A recording studio

Capture voices, instruments and sounds from the room.

A songwriting tool

Build lyrics, sections and arrangements into a complete idea.

A creative workspace

Make choices, solve problems and keep developing a project.

CREATIVITY WITH SUBSTANCE

A creative activity that feels exciting — and teaches real skills

Each session feels practical and current, while quietly building musical understanding and creative independence.

Create original music

Make beats, melodies, songs and soundtracks from their own ideas.

Use voices, instruments and everyday sounds as creative material.

03

06

Build digital creativity

Learn recording, editing and arrangement through purposeful use.

WHY A REGULAR PROGRAMME?

A regular weekly time gives creative ideas time to grow

Children make much better progress with a regular weekly session. After the Discovery Session, after-school sessions are therefore booked by half-term or full-term rather than lesson by lesson. Regular sessions last 50 minutes, giving children enough time to explore ideas, create, record and make meaningful progress without rushing.

Home visits are currently available in SW12 only. Other nearby postcodes may be considered on request.

School pick-up is available within SW12 only and remains subject to confirmation.

FLEXIBLE, ONE-TO-ONE SESSIONS

A place for creative children to focus

Music production can be especially rewarding for children who have lots of ideas, intense interests or a different way of learning.

Sessions are practical, flexible and built around the child’s taste, pace and personality.

There is no pressure to perform and no single “correct” way to make music.

REAL MUSIC, MODERN TOOLS

Technology is the tool. Music is the goal.

Using an iPad does not remove musicianship. It gives children immediate access to rhythm, melody, harmony, sound design, songwriting and recording.

Traditional instruments can also be included whenever useful. The aim is not to replace musical learning, but to make it engaging and meaningful.

SKILLS THAT GROW WITH THE PROJECT

What they develop along the way

Creative confidence

Turning an idea into something they can hear and share.

Digital literacy

Learning how creative software, recording and editing work.

Musical understanding

Developing rhythm, listening, arrangement and songwriting skills.

Project skills

Making choices, solving problems and finishing a piece of work.

A RESULT THEY CAN HEAR

They leave with something they made

Every project can become a beat, a song, a recording or a soundtrack the child can listen to and share with their family.

Over time, they build a collection of their own music — not just a list of exercises completed.

A BROAD, MODERN STARTING POINT

Who is it for?

Children and teenagers who:

START WITH ONE RELAXED SESSION

A modern route into music

The first lesson is a relaxed introduction. We explore what the child likes, create something together and see whether the format feels right.
